What is Tallow?
Tallow is produced when suet (beef kidney fat) is rendered down, eliminating impurities and leaving a pure substance called tallow. Because it comes from an animal, tallow is extremely similar to the sebum on our skin. It can be better absorbed into our skin than plant or petroleum based products, and works to build your moisture barrier back up.
Tallow contains fat soluble vitamins A, K, D, and E. It is able to penetrate the lipid skin barrier to deliver moisture, reduce redness, aid in producing collagen, and protect against free radicals. It is also anti-inflammatory and antimicrobial.
It can be used for general moisturizing as well as to help heal rashes, eczema, psoriasis, acne, sunburn, cracked hands and feet, aftershave, and reduce redness, inflammation and the look of scars.

Heard that beef tallow can be good for ketosis pilaris and so have been using it for about a week and a half and I think I am already starting to notice some changes :) I also have super dry skin and have never been able to find a moisturizer that held the moisture like this. Absolutely love

I am 57 and have very dry skin. So much so that my hands look like old lady hands. I am constantly washi by my hands which makes them even drier. So cream doesn’t last long. I saw Rachel at the SA Roots n Blues and purchased a tin. Wow I have never seen or felt the results that this has ever before. The skin on my hands feels amazing and they finally look smooth. This stuff is the best moisturizer I’ve ever used, doesn’t leave you with that oily lotion feeling and smells very subtle and natural. Repairing my faces moisture barrier is so easy with this stuff! But don’t take just my word for it. You have to try it yourself to see!! And the owner is a total cutie pie!! ❤️❤️ Can’t say enough good things!
A great alternative to seed oils. Knowing that the product is pure and not full of fillers makes me happy to incorporate this tallow into my diet.

Here at Mabel's, we do not use any essential oils in our products.
We believe that essential oils have their time and place in the world of health, but directly on our skin is not one of them, especially for those trying to heal.
All of our products in a black tin are unscented (meaning no additional ingredients added for the purpose of scent) or scented using whole plant extracts and infusions, either locally sourced and organic, or from Mother Nature herself.
